Abstract: Teacher talk is a simple language that is used by the teacher in teaching and learning process. It has an important role not only in organizing the classroom but also in acquiring the target language. The quality of the teacher can be measured by their talk in the classroom. Regarding to this, the aims of this study are to analyze the types, the talk time, and the pedagogical goals of teacher talk used by the effective teacher in EFL classroom. This research applied positive case study and was analyzed through discourse analysis.
