The study contextualises this museum’s motivations for acquisitions of contemporary South African ceramics during this period, describes the original motivations for collecting as well as subsequent historical developments up to 2009 in evaluating various ceramic media of the contemporary ceramic collection. The ceramic media includes unfired clay, raku, smoke fired, earthenware, stoneware, porcelain, bone china and paper clay.Two volumes available for soft copy
