From global representations to images of the field: exploring artistes solidarity on (im)mobility spaces

This paper aims to add insight to the role that arts play in the immigrants and artistes expirience, and making visible migrants particularly excluded (irregular migrants for exemple). Pulling together qualitative data from Calais and Liege artistic projects, this paper explores the role that arts plays in building bridges between society and the immigrants in other hand its is also important to explore how this particular art is perceived and what challenges artists encounter to put immigrants on the scene. Maggie O'Neill in her book Transnational Refugees: The Transformative Role of Art? Will argue “that in the process of renewing methodologies and working in collaboration with artists to conduct performative praxis and art a "potential space", a transformative space emerges, a "potential space" for transformative possibilities”. There is strong literature to support the role that art therapy can play in helping refugees address trauma (Kalmanowitz and Lloyd, 2016). At the social level, we also see the role the artists can play in challenging dominant narratives art created by immigrants can help to show the discriminatory treatment of migrants leading to debates (Johnston and Pratt, 2010). It is clear from the literature that arts and culture play various functions on the integration and immigration issues, but what is the impact of these artistic works and this artistc experience to migrants? The world of arts is itself complex and dependent in diferent levels, of state, diffusers, and artists, as some researchers emphasize the relevance of institutions on the study of art and immigration as the policy contexts, funding structures, places of diffusion of art and culture (theaters
