In the last few years, Content Providers (CPs) have experienced a high increase in requests for video contents and rich media services. In view of the network scaling limitations and beyond Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs) are developing their own caching systems in order to improve the network performance. These factors explain the enthusiasm around the Content-Centric Networking (CCN) concept and its in-network caching feature.
