Entre Crimée et Bosphore : d’une <i>Parthenos</i> à l’autre

International audienceThe point of this paper is to go beyond the controversy concerning the origin of two deities honored in two cities of the Pontus Euxinus, and to insist on the role and the context in which the two goddesses were worshipped: Parthenos in Chersonesos and Phosphoros in Byzantion. The point is the common sphere of action of these goddesses, protecting the inhabitants of these cities, against the unexpected assaults of theirs enemies. Their epiphanies, as well as the records concerning the manifestations of these two deities, belong to a Greek cultural «luggage».Cet article se propose de dépasser le débat sur l’origine des deux divinités honorées dans deux cités du Pont-Euxin, pour insister sur le rôle et le contexte de vénération de ces deux déesses : Parthenos à Chersonèse et Phôsphoros à Byzance. On s’intéresse ici à la sphère d’action commune de ces divinités, qui protègent les deux cités contre les attaques inattendues de leurs ennemis.
