Wireless body area network (WBAN) deals with patient’s information which are more sensitive and important because of security and privacy associated with the data, unlike conventional sensor networks . The medical sensors used in WBAN are resource-constrained nodes having less storage, battery capacity, and computation power. Hence, the medical sensors are not capable of performing more complex algorithms to achieve the security requirements. Therefore, designing a light-weight authentication protocol for WBAN which aims to guarantee maximum security in a resource-constrained environment is a challenging task.
