Purpose: In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of studies using social robots to improve psychological well‐being. This systematic review investigates the effect of social robot interventions for depression in older adults. Methods: The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analysis (PRISMA) method was used to identify and select existing studies. Nine electronic databases were searched for relevant studies. Methodological quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Meta‐Analysis of Statistics Assessment and Review Instrument.
