Venezuelan equine encephalitis surveillance : zoonoses ; VEE annual summary 1972

There were no reported cases of Venezuelan equine encephalitis (VEE) in equities in the United States in 1972, nor was the virus isolated iron mosquitoes as a partof surveillance activities. Two human VEE cases were imported from Mexico, both of which were reported from California. There were several outbreaks of VEE reported frm Mexico in 1972. Surveillance activities by a number cf cooperating federal, state, and local agencies to monitor possible VEE activity in mosquitoes, equities, and other species will continue in the next mosquito season at a somewhat reduced rate.SUGGESTED CITATION: Center foi Disease Control Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis Surveillance Annual Summary, Issued March 19/3197
