TINJAUAN KRIMINOLOGIS TERHADAP TINDAK PIDANA JUDI ADU KERBAU DI TORAJA

Toraja have aunique cultural ceremony. One of them is the Rambu Solo’ or funeral ceremony that become one of the traveling destination attraction of Toraja. In Rambu Solo’ there is an interesting cultural ceremony procession that is tedong silaga or buffalo fighting. In tedong silaga,two male buffalos will be put into the arena to fight and entertain the shepherd and the whole families in sorrow atmosphere. But over time, now the meanings and propotion of buffalo fighting have moved from entertaining become a gambling event by many unresponsible people that may harm the tradition. People comes to the Rambu Solo’ ceremony from many parts in Toraja and outside of Toraja to watch and gambling. There for, the local goverment which is in this case is the local police department take firm action due this gambling issue in the cultural ceremony. The local goverment of Toraja is now actively go through with counseling and socialization to many elements including kids, teen and adult generation to obey the law, either the written or unwritten law. The advanced procedure that will be taken by the law enforcer when the people does not care after the socialization is by calling the concerned person and be penalized accorfing to the applicable law
