ANALISIS FAKTOR RISIKO PREVALNSI GIZI BURUK BALITA USIA 0-60 BULAN DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PASIRIAN KABUPATEN LUMAJANG TAHUN 2017 (BERDASARKAN TEORI EPIDEMIOLOGIC TRIANGLE)

Background: Severe underweight is a nutritional status based on the body weight for age (BW/A) <-3SD according to WHO growth standards. Severe underweight mostly happens in children under the age of 5 years. Based on WHO Global Health Observatory Data Repository in 2015, there were 95.5 million children under the age of 5 years with undernutrition and severe underweight status in the world. Objective: The aim of this research is to analyze the risk factors of severe underweight in children under the age of 5 years in Pasirian Public Health Center Working Area in Lumajang Regency in 2017. Research Methods: The method of this research was analytic observation with a case control study approach and used total sampling technique. The sample in this research amounted to 96 children under the age of 5 years, consisted of 48 children under the age of 5 years with normal nutrition and 48 children under the age of 5 years with severe underweight in Pasirian Public Health Center Working Area in Lumajang Regency. The data collected by questionnary method and the hypothesis test used multiple linear regression test. Research Results: Through the hypothesis test of multiple linear regression obtained factors that significantly affected the severe underweight occurrence in children under the age of 5 years using F test (simultaneous) and t test (partial). In the F test, it was found that all risk factors (host, agent, environment) significantly affected severe underweight occurrence with value of p = 0,000. Whereas in the t test (partial) it was found that only the host factor (baby’s birth weight) and environmental factor (giving food intake) had a significant effect on severe underweight occurrence with each p values p = 0,000 and p = 0.010. Conclusion: The prevalence of severe underweight children under the age of 5 years in Pasirian Public Health Center was 49% affected by host factors (age, sex, baby’s birth weight, congenital disease), agent factors (infectious diseases), and environmental factors (maternal education level, family socioeconomic status, history exclusive breastfeeding, history of immunization, mother's knowledge of balanced nutrition, giving food intake). Host factors (baby’s birth weight) and environmental factors (giving food intake) were the most significant risk factors, while 51% was affected by host, agent, and environmental factors out of the factors that had been studied
