FAKTOR YANG BERPENGARUH TERHADAP KETEPATAN PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS DALAM PENGGUNAAN INSULIN DENGAN PENDEKATAN TEORI HEALTH BELIEF MODEL (Pada Pasien Rawat Jalan di RSU Karsa Husada Kota Batu, Jawa Timur)

Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a condition of high blood sugar levels accompanied with metabolic, carbohydrate, protein and fat disorders due to a lack of insulin hormone in the body, released by pancreatic β cells. In general, Diabetes Mellitus patients use Insulin as a treatment for Diabetes Mellitus. One theory that studies the accuracy of health behavior is Health Belief Model. HBM includes perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barrier, and self-efficacy. Objective: This study aims to find out the factors affecting the accuracy of Diabetes Mellitus patients in using Insulin with Health Belief Model Theory approach in outpatients of RSU Karsa Husada, Batu City. Research Method: This research used cross-sectional method, and the instrument used was in the form of questionnaires. Sampling was done through purposive sampling method in outpatients of RSU Karsa Husada, Batu City. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis by using multiple regression test to determine the affectingfactors based on HBM theory to the accuracy of Diabetes Mellitus patients in using Insulin. Results & conclusion: The affecting factors of HBM theory approach are perceived benefits, perceived suscpetibility, perceived severity, perceived barrier and self efficacy with effect as much as 43,2%; 42,7%; 40,6%; 35,9% and 25,1%. Overall, factors of HBM affect the accuracy with effect as much as 59,9%
