The field of Computer Science (CS) has a well known stereotype of being dominated by white and Asian males. As a woman in CS, I wanted to know whether my classmates in the Ball State CS department felt discriminated, unincluded, or unrepresented, and how they thought diversity could be increased within the department. I conducted a survey and two focus groups to determine the current population of CS students' opinions and feelings on the matter, and found that the main reason for a lack of diversity was misinformation on what CS is.Honors CollegeThesis (B.?
