In 2019, the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) will be celebrating 50 years of effective, evidence-based, nutrition education programming in communities throughout the United States. We plan to highlight the program's history, purpose, strengths, impacts, and partnerships (nationally and locally, past and present), and how EFNEP has played a role in building well-connected communities for the past 50 years. Further, we will be highlighting how the program contributes to improving social, economic, and environmental conditions by providing free nutrition education to limited-resource families (thus cultivating a culture of health). In doing so, we also promote skills to enrich healthy relationships and strengthen families...
