The exhibition 'At the Point of Gesture' brought together five artists who, in their different ways, explore and renegotiate the potential of gesture and materiality. While such approaches have been castigated, deconstructed, and even avoided in much recent painting practice, these painters focus on, and relish, the nature of paint guided by the body both as a site of potential meaning and ‘disruptive’ physicality.
