In this paper I will point out a number of very serious principal objections on the idea of a Mobile Internet, and why it will not work. At least not as currently planned. Then, I will show how some of the objections - the most serious ones - can be solved by taking a radically different path to the future. A path that is so different that most people hesitate to think about it since it may mean that the role of mobile operators disappears.
