Hybridventilaton : Förutsättningar för applicering i ett svenskt klimat

During a long period of time, White Architects has been a leading and driving factor in the development of more environmental friendly buildings and sustainable architecture within the Nordic scene. This work has led to the creation of a sustainability group within the company that is working with investigating concerns regarding both softer sustainability issues as well as technical innovations. The later years’ development of technically innovative and energy efficient solutions for hybrid ventilation systems, both in the area around the Baltic Sea as well as globally, has to some extent led to new ways of looking upon and creating ventilation systems as a part of the complete building system. In order to find the latest information regarding this subject, White Architects initiated a project group who was assigned to investigate the possibilities and the limitations of using hybrid ventilation in a Swedish climate. This was to be done through a series of studies with financial contribution from the organization ARQ. This paper is the first step in these series. The goal is to create and spread the knowledge of hybrid ventilation and its potential.The aspects that has been investigated in this paper are; Rules and Regulations, Geographical Conditions, Form Factors, Energy and Economy. In order to better understand the underlying technology, the meaning of the term hybrid ventilation was investigated thoroughly. This was made with the purpose to find out what it is that defines the concept and which design options that is available today. This was mainly done through Case Studies in which already built and realized hybrid ventilation systems were studied in detail. By comparing this against the conditions in Sweden, this master thesis aims to answer whether or not the hybrid ventilation techniques that is used internationally is suitable or even possible to apply in Sweden. In cases where the techniques are not favorable, the ambition has been to highlight which measures that needs to be taken.This study resulted in analyzes and conclusions that overall indicates that hybrid ventilation is a ventilation technique with many advantages, based on the surveyed areas. There are potential advantages with the techniques that is already used today and many of these solutions could be applied in a Swedish climate. Questions such as the big national climate differences within the Swedish borders and the interest/knowledge for hybrid ventilation in the industry needs further research in order to have general and definite answers. From an overall standpoint, hybrid ventilation has many advantages. Under the right conditions, the technique can help create sustainable and energy efficient buildings. This study gives an increased insight to the subject of hybrid ventilation and what it is that effects the potential of the different techniques. The paper also provides ideas on how to proceed with further investigations and research. By identifying and answering the obstacles still ahead, hybrid ventilation could be a competitor to the more conventional ventilation systems on the market.Validerat; 20150817 (global_studentproject_submitter
