In this paper, a study and comparison has been made of how two Swedish, printed newspapers describes murders and suspected offenders. This applies to the local morning paper Norrländska socialdemokraten and the tabloid Aftonbladet. The author has used a qualitative text analysis and examined three different murder cases based on theories of, among others, Börjesson and Weibull that name publications declined during the 1900s in favor of more detailed description. Also Pollack's (2008) theories about how forensic journalism evolved over time has been the basis for the examination.
