To obtain experimental values for ignition of moist wood experiments were conducted where moist medium density fiberboards with varying moisture contents were ignited using a cone calorimeter. The cone calorimeter used a spark as means of ignition. Theoretically ignition times were predicted using the finite element code TASEF.These values were then compared with the experimental ones. The ignition was simplified to be a purely thermal problem where the boards will ignite when they reached a certain temperature.
