Media has enormous powers. It influences both our views and values and determines what is relevant in society. When the power is abused and media submits to economic factors, has its own agendas and pushes the boundaries of what is allowed to be published, the consequences for the individual can be devastating. The purpose of this study has been to examine how the newspaper Expressen reported about the famous children’s tv-host Ola Lindholm’s suspected drug offence. \u2028I have made a critical discourse analysis of seventeen news articles relating to this.
