There are a lot of the methods of hydrolysis at present. The choice of the method is dependent on the species and quality of the raw material, economical and ecological effectiveness of the technology and requirements of the final product. The hydrolysis of sucrose by succinic acid was investigated in a preliminary study. It was found that optimal conditions of sucrose hydrolysis correspond to 100ºC, a hydrolysis time of 1 hour and 0.5% concentration of succinic acid. The media, which consists of glucose / fructose approximately in ratio 50 : 50 was checked by a fermentation process with the E.coli mutant AFP 184. The fermentation resulted in a final succinic acid concentration of about 28.3 g/l after 16 hours of production. ...
