This master thesis evaluates a parametric model for ultrasound reflection in a layered medium. This model will be used for determining the thickness of each layer within the total thickness of the medium. With slight alteration one can also use it to find the total number of layers. Ultrasound is a cheap and fast method for nondestructive testing of material properties. Using ultrasound is a non toxic, clean (no saw or grind dust) and safe way to test as well. Within this thesis the model is tested with both simulations and in situ tests at an industrial laboratory. All Theory for the model is developed by Fredrik Hägglund, PhD student at LTUValiderat; 20101217 (root
