Arbetsterapeutiska interventioner för klienter med frånvaro från arbete som följd av stress-relaterad ohälsa : En litteraturöversikt

The purpose of this literature review was to compile occupational therapy interventions for clients with absence from work as a consequence of stress-related ill health and burnout and to describe the effects from these interventions. Data was collected through a systematic literature search in three databases within medicine and health and with secondary searches. The inclusion criteria and the review for quality resulted in nine qualitative and quantitative included articles. In the analyses of the articles the author used Fisher`s (2009) practice models to present how the interventions were connected to therapeutic activity. The results were presented in two parts. In the first part was the occurrence interventions compiled. Occupational therapy interventions and interventions related to occupational therapy for clients suffering from stress-related ill health and burnout did appear within all the models, activity training and improvement of personal factors and body functions were the most common of the models. In the second part were the effects of the interventions described. The occupational therapy interventions and interventions related to occupational therapy resulted in a positive effect for returning to work, participation and engagement in occupation. The result of the literature review contributes to occupational therapists can use interventions which gives a positive effect for returning to work and reduced sick leave. The author has found a limited amount of research which investigated occupational therapy interventions effect for clients suffering from stress-related ill health and burnout. Research is needed in the area of clients suffering from stress-related ill health and burnout to indicate occupational therapy interventions which are effective as the working life of today can contribute to an increasingly risk for stress-related ill health and burnout and thereby a increased need for effective interventions.Validerat; 20150623 (global_studentproject_submitter
