Dit och tillbaka igen : En kvalitativ studie om utanförskap bland ungdomar

The purpose of this paper is to provide a better insight into how it can be for young people to be in a situation of alienation. By alienation is meant that young people are not studying, working nor preparing for work but instead activate themselves in other ways, for example through aberrant behavior. Based on the stories of the three informants, possible variables and events that could lead to alienation are suggested. The work also investigates the activities that occur in the alienation and what can motivate a return from alienation. The work method is qualitative with deep interviews and theories used were two types of stigma, Meads significant other and Bourdieu's habitus and field. Reasons for the alienation of the informants are suggested to be, for example, a negative experiences at school, anxiously socializing and an absence of responsible adults. The alienation of the informants has involved addictions to drugs and computer games, but also a willingness or desire to come back from their alienation. The main reason that the informants returned from their alienation had to do with their realization that life in isolation was unsustainable.Validerat; 20160622 (global_studentproject_submitter
