Habilidades comunicacionales del gerente contemporáneo

The article examines the origin of the organizational communication concept and the different approaches to this controversial concept, which has so many detractors and defenders in the world of management. The concept is analyzed as a capacity, a set or system of attributes, which could allow organizational changes to occur without sizeable traumas for the organizations. Furthermore, the concept is evaluated from the organizational viewpoint, such as the communicational abilities of the manager; the importance of organizational communication, its clarity within organizations, and finally, some guidelines are offered as a contribution to improving the organizational communication process and thereby permitting changes in any organization. In this sense, the present article could be taken as a reference for supporting communication and other actions that contribute to guiding organizational communication procedures for directors and employees, who could increase their levels of knowledge about the communicational process and who would function as multipliers of knowledge directed toward the working community in general.El artículo aborda el origen del concepto comunicación organizacional y los diferentes enfoques de este concepto controvertido y que tantos detractores y defensores tiene en el mundo de la gerencia. Se hace un análisis del concepto visto como capacidad, conjunto o sistema de atributos, lo cual podría permitir llevar a cabo los cambios organizacionales sin mayores traumas para las organizaciones. Además, se hace una valoración del concepto desde el punto de vista organizacional, como habilidades comunicacionales del gerente; la importancia de la comunicación organizacional, su claridad dentro de las organizaciones y finalmente se dan unos lineamientos como aporte para mejorar el proceso de comunicación organizacional y permitir con ello los cambios en cualquier organización. En tal sentido, el presente artículo podrá tomarse como referencia, para sustentar la comunicación y otras acciones que coadyuven a orientar en el procedimiento de la comunicación organizacional a los directivos y a los empleados, quienes pudieran incrementar sus niveles de conocimiento en el proceso comunicacional, y estos a su vez funcionarán como entes multiplicadores del conocimiento obtenido hacia la comunidad trabajadora en general
