Agroecologia, ci?ncia e emancipa??o humana

the article is discussed a scientific approach that can contribute to the overcoming of the contradictions caused by positivism and post-modernism conceptions regarding the emancipatory character of Agroecology. From a review of the specialized literature it is concluded that the concept of complexity, considering his ontologics, epistemologics and on the concept of sustainable development consequences, can fulfill an important role for the overcoming of such contradictions. It?s concluded that there is an huge conceptual, theoretical and methodological work to be carried out so that the scientific activities developed in the context of Agroecology can become more coherent with the emancipatory character of this field. In this sense, the article shows that the difficulties to reach such coherence must not be underestimated, since she implicates in the overcoming of conceptions deeply rooted in research and extension professionals about the role of science in the construction of the agroecological knowledge.No artigo ? discutido um enfoque cient?fico que pode contribuir para a supera??o das contradi??es causadas pelo positivismo e pelo p?s-modernismo em rela??o ao car?ter emancipat?rio da Agroecologia. A partir de uma revis?o da bibliografia especializada conclui-se que o conceito de complexidade, considerando-se as suas consequ?ncias ontol?gicas, epistemol?gicas e sobre o conceito de desenvolvimento sustent?vel, pode desempenhar um papel fundamental para a supera??o de tais contradi??es. Conclui-se tamb?m que h?, ainda, um imenso trabalho de ordem conceitual, te?rica e metodol?gica a ser realizado para que as atividades cient?ficas desenvolvidas no ?mbito da Agroecologia possam se tornar mais coerentes com o car?ter emancipat?rio deste campo. Neste sentido, o artigo mostra que as dificuldades para atingir tal coer?ncia n?o devem ser subestimadas, pois ela implica na supera??o de concep??es profundamente arraigadas entre pesquisadores e extensionistas sobre o papel da ci?ncia na constru??o do conhecimento agroecol?gico
