Motivos envolvidos no desmame de crian?as menores de seis meses de vida

Weaning of children under six months of age often occurs in Brazil and could result in different consequences for that individual, which is in full time of growth and development. Given the above, it has been the objective of this study was to know the reasons that lead mothers to carry out the weaning their children before six months of life in the city of Chapec? / SC. The methodological approach chosen to achieve the goal is a descriptive exploratory study of qualitative approach. The study was conducted in a Family Health Center located in Chapec?, SC. Data production took place in September 2014, with nine mothers after approval by the Municipal Department of Health and by the Ethics Committee of the Federal University of South Border, on the advice number 772 266. The ethical aspects of research involving human beings were respected, according to Resolution No. 466 of 2012 of the National Board of Health and Ministry of Health. The data collection was performed by recorded interview. Data analysis was performed using the content analysis method proposed by Laurence Bardin. After the analysis of the material fell into two themes: maternal interpretation about the need to introduce food supplement, which checks that mothers believe that the child wants, needs or requests other foods because their reactions; and influences of biological, social and cultural factors of early weaning, when the nurse believes it has little milk or he just, medically indicated, due to work outside the home, under the influence of grandparents and others in your social network . At the end of the work we can conclude that the reasons that lead mothers to discontinue exclusive breastfeeding before six months of their children's lives permeate the interpretation of the need for introduction of other foods, and the biological, social and cultural influences. Thus we see that there is need for awareness of mothers by health professionals and social network for the promotion of exclusive breastfeeding for six months and could be done through interdisciplinary actions and networking.O desmame de crian?as menores de seis meses de idade ocorre frequentemente no Brasil, podendo implicar em diversas consequ?ncias para esse indiv?duo, o qual se encontra em pleno momento de crescimento e desenvolvimento. Diante do exposto, tem-se como objetivo deste estudo conhecer os motivos que levam as m?es a realizarem o desmame de seus filhos antes dos seis meses de vida na cidade de Chapec?/SC. O percurso metodol?gico escolhido para alcan?ar o objetivo ? um estudo descritivo-explorat?rio de abordagem qualitativa. O estudo foi realizado em um Centro de Sa?de da Fam?lia localizado no munic?pio de Chapec?, SC. A produ??o dos dados deu-se no m?s de setembro de 2014, com nove m?es ap?s aprova??o pela Secretaria de Sa?de Municipal e pelo Comit? de ?tica em Pesquisa da Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul, sob parecer n?mero 772.266. Foram respeitados os aspectos ?ticos da pesquisa com seres humanos, de acordo com a Resolu??o n?mero 466 de 2012 do Conselho Nacional de Sa?de e Minist?rio da Sa?de. A coleta de dados deu-se por entrevista gravada. A an?lise dos dados foi realizada pelo m?todo de an?lise de conte?do, proposta por Laurence Bardin. Ap?s a an?lise do material emergiram duas categorias tem?ticas: interpreta??o materna acerca da necessidade da introdu??o de complemento alimentar, o qual verifica que as m?es acreditam que a crian?a quer, precisa ou pede outros alimentos devido as suas rea??es; e influ?ncias de fatores biol?gicos, sociais e culturais do desmame precoce, quando a nutriz acredita que tem pouco leite ou que ele acabou, por indica??o m?dica, em decorr?ncia do trabalho fora de casa, por influ?ncia das av?s e de outras pessoas de sua rede social. Ao final do trabalho podemos concluir que os motivos que levam as m?es a interromperem o aleitamento materno exclusivo antes dos seis meses de vida de seus filhos permeiam a interpreta??o acerca da necessidade de introdu??o de outros alimentos, e as influ?ncias biol?gicas, sociais e culturais. Assim, percebemos que h? necessidade da sensibiliza??o das m?es pelos profissionais de sa?de e de sua rede social para a promo??o do aleitamento materno exclusivo at? os seis meses de vida, podendo ser realizado por meio de a??es interdisciplinares e em rede
