Forege potential of Momba?a grass fertilized with differents doses of nitrogen

Panicum grasses are characterized by their great potential of forage production. Among the many cultivars, it is highlighting the Panicum maximum cv. Momba?a that acquired great importance in the cultivated pasture areas of the country. The objective of this study was to evaluate the Momba?a grass development, previously deployed in the area formerly used in corn and soybeans, fertilized with different doses of nitrogen (N), determining their forage production throughout the year. It was used the experimental design of randomized blocks with three repetitions. The treatment were realized with four doses of nitrogen (N) 0, 120, 240 and 360 kg/ha/year, using the urea as the N font (45% N). The cut were made 30 cm from the ground with an average interval of 32 days, totalling 7 cuts along of all experiment. Nitrogen fertilization was carried out in sections after the cuts in order to achieve the levels proposed by the treatments. It was observed significative effects in the different doses of N in dry matter production (PMS), cutting height of the grass, leaf production, stem production and accumulation rate of Momba?a grass. The average production of dry matter totalled 10.235 kg/ha with an average accumulation rate of 49,03 kg/ha/day. The average cutting height was 0.71 meters, while the average residual height was 0.31 meters. On average, the leaf participation in the forage above 0,30 m was 90,65% and an average stem participation of 5,44%. The urea fertilization increased in a linear form the total production of dry matter and the morphological components of the plant.As plantas do g?nero Panicum s?o caracterizadas pelo seu grande potencial de produ??o de forragem. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o desenvolvimento do capim Momba?a, previamente implantado em ?rea anteriormente utilizada no cultivo de milho e soja, adubado com diferentes doses de nitrog?nio (N), determinando sua produ??o forrageira ao longo do ano. Usou-se o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com tr?s repeti??es. Os tratamentos foram realizados com quatro doses de nitrog?nio (N) 0, 120, 240 e 360 kg/ha/ano, utilizando a ureia como fonte de N (45% N). Os cortes foram feitos a 30 cm do solo, com intervalo em m?dia de 32 dias, totalizando 7 cortes durante todo o experimento. A aduba??o nitrogenada foi realizada de forma parcelada, ap?s os cortes, a fim de atingir os n?veis propostos pelos tratamentos. Ocorreram efeitos significativos das diferentes doses de N na produ??o de mat?ria seca (PMS), altura de corte do capim, produ??o de folhas, produ??o de colmo e taxa de acumulo do capim Momba?a. A produ??o m?dia de mat?ria seca totalizou 10.235 kg/ha com taxa de acumulo m?dia de 49,03 kg/ha/dia. A altura m?dia de corte foi de 0,71 metros, enquanto que a altura m?dia do res?duo foi igual a 0,31 metros. Em m?dia a participa??o de folhas na forragem acima de 0,30 m foi de 90,65 % e a participa??o m?dia de colmo igual a 5,44 %. A Fertiliza??o com ureia elevou de forma linear a produ??o total de mat?ria seca e dos componentes morfol?gicos da planta
