Peran Kepala Sekolah dalam Mengembangkan Kompetensi Profesional Guru di SD Muhammadiyah Baturan

School is a place for learning activities between teachers and students. In carrying out school activities there must be leaders who coordinate and bear responsibility during the activity. The principal not only leads and is responsible for the school but is also responsible for developing the components in it. This study aims to: (1) Describe the efforts of school principals in developing teacher professional competencies at Muhammadiyah Baturan Elementary School. (2) Describe the constraints in developing teacher professional competencies at Muhammadiyah Baturan Elementary School. (3) Describe solutions in developing teacher professional competencies at Muhammadiyah Baturan Elementary School. This research is a type of qualitative research. The technique of collecting data is done by interviews, observation and documentation. The data validity technique uses triangulation methods and source triangulation. The results of the study: (1) the principal's efforts, namely: a. As a manager, there is no appropriate strategy to empower teachers. b. As an administrator it has not been maximized in seeking various activities in the administration of school programs. c. As a supervisior, it is not maximal in evaluating teachers to find out the weaknesses as well as the superiority of the teacher when implementing learning d. As a leader, it has the responsibility to move all the resources in the school. (2) Principal constraints, namely: a. Senior teachers easily forget about mastering ICT media. b. limited resources and infrastructure. (3) Principal solutions, namely: a. The principal conducts training on information and communication technology. b. The school principal encourages to continue to develop and utilize existing facilities independently, including in upgrading
