Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Buah Delima (Punica granatum L.) Terhadap Viabilitas Spermatozoa Mencit Jantan (Mus musculus L.) yang Diberi Paparan Asap Rokok

Cigarette smoke is one of free radicals and mediators that cause infertility sperm function abnormalities as it causes DNA damage and increased apoptosis of spermatozoa induced ROS produced by cigarette smoke. The pommegranate fruit (Punica granatum L) has a strong antioxidant due to the ability of polyphenols hydrolyzabletannis (ellagitannis) that can reduce the production of ROS and protects the body from free radicals and being able to fix the viability of spermatozoa.To know the effect of pomegranate extract (Punica granatum L.) on the viability of spermatozoa male mice (Mus musculus L.) that exposed to cigarette smoke.This research used a laboratory experimental research design with posttest only with controlled group design method. The subjects of this research were 30 male mice (Mus musculus L.). The mice were divided into 5 groups with different treatments, namely: K normal given only an aquades, K (-) exposed by cigarette smoke, P1 was exposed by cigarette smoke + 42 mg extract, P2 was exposed by cigarette smoke + 84 mg extract, P3 was exposed by cigarette smoke + 168 mg extract. The data was analyzed by statistically with statistical software for windows.Pomegranate extract (Punica granatum L.) can prevent the bad viability of male mice spermatozoa (Mus musculus L.) which is exposed by cigarette smoke, as evidenced by the result oh p
