Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Buah Delima (Punica granatum L.) Terhadap Morfologi Spermatozoa Pada Mencit Jantan (Mus musculus L.) Yang Diberi Paparan Asap Rokok

Pomegranate is believed to be a potent source of useful antioxidants. Pomegranate is rich in flavonoid, tanin and vitamin. Flavonoids in pomegranate was a compound that is reported to have anti oxidant properties that have many beneficial effects. This study purpose is to determine the effect of pomegranate extract (Punica granatum L.) to the morphology of male mice spermatozoa (Mus musculus L.) which exposed to cigarette smoke. a laboratory experimental research using posttest only with control group design method. The subjects of this study were pomegrandae extract (Punica granatum L.). Male mice (Mus musculus L.) were used as samples. Pomegranate extract (Punica granatum L.) tested the inhibitory effect of morphological damage of male mice (Mus musculus L). With 5 mice, divided into 5 groups: normal control group (given aquades), negative control (given 1 cigarette + aquades), treatment 1 (given 1 cigarette + pomegranate extract 350 mg/Kg of body weight), treatment 2 (given 1 cigarette + pomegranate extract 700 mg/Kg of body weight) and 3 treatments (given 1 cigarette + 1400 mg/Kg of body weight pomegranate extract). Then observed and calculated abnormal and normal morphology of spermatozoa were then calculated. The data were analyzed statistically using SPSS 20.0. Pomegranate extract (Punica granatum L.) which has antioxidant activity can influence morphological of male mice spermatozoa (Mus musculus L) in dose of 350 mg/Kg of body weight, 700 mg/Kg of body weight and 1400 mg/Kg of body weight. Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) with concentration of 350 mg/Kg of body weight, 700 mg/Kg of body weight and 1400 mg/Kg of body weight can influence morphological of male mice spermatozoa (Mus musculus L.)
