Analisis Kerentanan Sosial dalam Pengurangan Risiko Bencana Gempabumi di Kecamatan Banguntapan Kabupaten Bantul

Earthquake is tremor or shock that occured and felt on the surface originated from the structure of the earth (Christanto, 2011). Earthquake is often occured in Indonesia, especially in Bantul Regency. Among 17 sub-districts in Bantul, Banguntapan Sub-District is one of the worst affected. This research aim to: 1.) Characterise social vulnerability in term of earthquake hazard in order to reduce the earthquake risk, 2.) Determining the main factors of social vulnerability in earthquake reduction, and 3.) Formulating the ways to reduce the social vulnerability in earthquake reduction. This research used quantitative descriptive and survey method. The survey was conducted to get the data of social vulnerability condition and characteristics. The scoring analysis was applied to generate the level of social vulnerability. The results of this research show that: 1.) Banguntapan District was in moderate social vulnerability, which is Bangunatapan Sub-District was the only one has high social vulnerability, 2.) Population density, sex ratio and number of poor population are the main factors that affect the level of social vulnerability in Banguntapan Sub-District, and 3.) The efforts are needed to reduce the social vulnerability, namely: a.) Update the data regularly, 2.) Transmigration needed to control population density, c.) Job training and equal employment to control the number of poor population, and d.)
