Hubungan antara Pengetahuan dengan Sikap Dokter Gigi mengenai Perawatan Gigi pada Ibu Hamil di Kota Surakarta

Background : Dentists often face difficulties in handling pregnant women patients in order to safely undergo dental procedures. The fact that, globally, dentists remain to show hesitation and reluctance towards providing dental treatment for pregnant women. Dentists with poor knowledge and attitude often create additional barriers in providing dental treatment for pregnant women. Aim : To determine the correlation between knowledge and attitude of dentist about dental treatment for pregnant woman in Surakarta. Method : It was observational analytic with cross sectional study design to 50 dentist practicing in Surakarta. Variable consist of 2 that is knowledge of dentist about dental treatment for pregnant woman and attitude of dentist about dental treatment for pregnant women, each variable is measured by using questionnaire adopted from Huebner and Nasir which has been validated. Data were analyzed using pearson correlation test. Results : The results of study showed the majority of respondents have sufficient knowledge and good attitude about dental treatment in pregnant women.
