This research is aimed at analyzing the implementation of recount text technique in speaking English class using telling unforgettable story method at the first year of SMU Negeri 8 Surakarta. This research is Classroom Action Research. The data are taken from observation, test, and interview. The subject of the study is the students in the first year of SMU Negeri 8 Surakarta and the object is speaking skill by using recount texts through telling unforgettable story. The result of study shows that the students’ ability in speaking skill of recount text is good.
