The human anatomy is one at the areas associated to the forensic dentistry, which allows the observation and analysis of the morphology of the face bones of the face to know the probable age of the skeleton. The mandible suffers important morphological and structural alterations with the aging, which are intensified with the loss of the tooth. It was conducted a revision of the literature, through which we describe the morphology and main alterations of the child, young adult and edentulous senile mandible. The main structural changes occur in the body and angle of the jaw, from the development of the teeth and alveolar process, and in the senile age with the tooth loss.
