História e memória das professoras no Grupo Escolar Brasil: Uberaba 1960 -1971

This study is a qualitative research in education, which aimed to investigate the teachers’ practices in Grupo Escolar Brasil (Brazil Scholar Group), in Uberaba, from 1960 to 1971. The guiding questions were: what were the practices and methods developed in the classroom in Grupo Escolar Brasil? How were these practices and methods developed? What were the role and place of the Primary Education Program of Minas Gerais State to be part of the Scholar Groups of Minas Gerais in the teachers’ syllabi? The methodology chosen was the Thematic Oral History, because it made possible to recover the teachers’ experiences in the classroom in the manner they taught Native Language, Moral, Civility and Hygiene, and also the ways they assessed the students. Therefore, we interviewed five participants of the group: two teachers who worked with the third grade, and one with the fourth grade, who later became a principal in the same group; we also interviewed two former students, whose primary education was all taken in Grupo Escolar Brasil. The documentary references used in this study served to complement the narratives, once the documents emerged from the narratives. During the study we understood that the Grupo Escolar Brasil was respected in Uberaba’s society, because it was the very first scholar group in the city, being active for 107 years now. We discovered, through the narratives, that the teachers’ syllabi were made guided by the group’s principal and the Primary Elemental Education Program. Throughout the research, we discovered a guide made by the teacher Hermantina Riccioppo for the areas of Geography and Natural Sciences, which also brought themes related to civility, moral and hygiene.Dissertação (Mestrado)Este estudo está inserido no campo da pesquisa qualitativa em educação, o qual visou investigar as práticas das professoras no Grupo Escolar Brasil, em Uberaba, no período de 1960 a 1971. As questões que nortearam as pesquisa foram: quais eram as práticas e os métodos desenvolvidos em sala de aula no Grupo Escolar Brasil? E como as práticas e métodos eram desenvolvidos? Qual o papel e o lugar do Programa de Ensino Primário do Estado de Minas Gerais para ser dos Grupos Escolares de Minas Gerais nos planejamentos das professoras? A metodologia escolhida foi a História Oral Temática, pois através dela foi possível retomar as experiências e vivências das professoras em sala de aula nos modos de ensinar Língua Pátria, Moral, Civismo e Higiene, além das formas de avaliar os alunos. Assim, realizamos cinco entrevistas. Dos cinco entrevistados, duas atuaram como professoras da terceira série, e uma atuou como professora da quarta série e depois tornou-se diretora desse mesmo grupo. Entrevistamos também dois ex-alunos que fizeram todo o ensino primário no Grupo Escolar Brasil. As fontes documentais utilizadas neste estudo tiveram a função de complementar as narrativas, pois foi a partir das narrativas que as fontes foram selecionadas. Durante o estudo compreendemos que o Grupo Escolar Brasil mantinha um respeito na sociedade uberabense, pois foi o primeiro grupo escolar criado na cidade e hoje em dia está com 107 anos. Descobrimos, por meio das narrativas, que o planejamento das professoras era feito com a orientação da diretora e do Programa de Ensino Primário Elementar. Ao longo, da pesquisa descobrimos um manual criado pela professora Hermantina Riccioppo para as áreas de Geografia e Ciências naturais, o qual trazia também temas relacionados ao civismo, moral e higiene
