Women in accounting: The professional performance of egresses of the accounting sciences course at FACIP / UFU from 2011 to 2017

The labor market has shown an increase in female participation, however, even though women have great achievements in rights, the market presents gender segregation in terms of managerial positions and remuneration. Increasingly, women have being standing out in their professional careers. The following research presents a viewpoint for those egresses of the Accounting Science course at Federal University of Uberlandia – Pontal Campus, in order to trace the professional trajectory of these women, identifying if they received appreciation and professional growth because of the graduation. Due to the descriptive character generated by the application of a questionnaire to the egresses of seven classes which have already concluded the course, it was possible to compare the professional performance of the egresses before and after the graduation. The research shows that women who were not active in the market when they started the course after the graduation were received by the labor market, in which 35% of these egresses work in the accounting field, but it is possible to notice that after the graduation the composition of the duties performed, and the remuneration changed, allowing it to trace the characteristics of the egresses´ professional trajectory.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)O mercado de trabalho tem apresentado um aumento da participação feminina. No entanto, apesar das mulheres contarem com grandes conquistas em direitos, o mercado apresenta segregação de gênero no que tange a cargos de chefia e remuneração. Cada vez mais as mulheres se destacam em suas carreiras profissionais. A presente pesquisa apresenta um olhar para as egressas do curso de Ciências Contábeis da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia – Campus Pontal de modo a traçar a trajetória profissional destas mulheres, identificando se conquistaram valorização e crescimento profissional em consequência da graduação. A pesquisa de caráter descritivo utilizou a aplicação de um questionário às egressas das sete turmas que concluíram o curso, foi possível comparar a atuação profissional das egressas antes e depois da graduação. A pesquisa permite perceber que as mulheres que não estavam atuando no mercado ao iniciarem o curso após a graduação foram recebidas pelo mercado de trabalho. Das egressas 35% atuam no setor contábil, mas é possível perceber que, após a graduação a composição das funções exercidas e da remuneração sofreram alterações, possibilitando traçar as características da trajetória profissional das egressas
