A body is a body: discourses and narratives of the Body Positive movement

The present work of conclusion of school is based on the Phenomenology of the Perception of Merleau-Ponty that considers the body the means by which we access the world. It aims to investigate the development of the discourses and narratives of the Body Positive movement in the rescue of the body as the locus of experience and the social crossings of the aesthetic and health models imposed on the contemporary body. For that, the phenomenological hermeneutics was chosen as the theoretical-methodological perspective from the analytic of sense, as a source of data was used from the postings of the digital influencers of the social media Instagram, which have as main agenda the female body under the optics of the Body Positive movement. The following categories were observed: the importance of the support and acceptance of the body from the dialectic of the deconstruction of the esthetic models; the representativeness of the bodies considering their social cuts; the criticism of the risks of illness in the search for the ideal of beauty, the pathologization of the marginalized bodies; and the understanding of the contemporary aesthetic standard as unreal and unreachable. Thus, the discourses and narratives analyzed contribute to the perception of the body as a foundation for human existence, as well as the importance of the inclusion/participation of the corporeal diversity in public life as a fundamental action to the human condition.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)O presente trabalho de conclusão de curso se baseia na Fenomenologia da Percepção de Merleau-Ponty que considera o corpo o meio pelo qual acessamos o mundo. Possui o intuito de investigar o desenvolvimento dos discursos e narrativas do movimento Body Positive no resgate do corpo como lócus da experiência e os atravessamentos sociais dos modelos estéticos e de saúde impostos ao corpo contemporâneo. Para tanto, elegeu-se como perspectiva teórico-metodológica a hermenêutica fenomenológica a partir da analítica do sentido, como fonte de dados utilizou-se das postagens das influenciadoras digitais da mídia social Instagram, as quais possuem como pauta principal o corpo feminino sob a óptica do movimento Body Positive. Observou-se seguintes categorias: a importância da sustentação e aceitação do próprio corpo a partir da dialética da desconstrução dos modelos estéticos; a representatividade dos corpos considerando seus recortes sociais; a crítica aos riscos do adoecimento na busca do ideal de beleza, à patologização dos corpos marginalizados; e o entendimento do padrão estético contemporâneo como irreal e inalcançável. Assim, os discursos e narrativas analisados contribuem para a percepção do corpo como fundante à existência humana, bem como a importância da inclusão/participação da diversidade corpórea na vida pública como ação fundamental à condição humana
