A leitura do mundo por meio dos sentidos: histórias de ensino, aprendizagem e deficiência visual

The aim of this dissertation was to report and analyse a teaching and learning experience with students with visual disability in reading classes. It was based on postulates of Narrative Search: Dewey (1938), Clandinin; Connelly (1994, 2004), Mello (1999, 2004), Connelly; Clandinin (2000). In reading study I used the ideas of Kleimann as main reference, in order to reflect about studies done by this searcher on the theme. I tried also to establish a relationship between these theories and the question of visual impairment, because these studies were done for not blind students. To discuss interaction, I started from Vigostky (1934) concepts and appointments. Based on daily notes made from the experience with students with visual disability as well with teachers who took part in the search, I tried to understand actions, reports and any other significant form of manifestation that were related to reading process and afterwards I tried to make new senses and to build new stories. Documents were analyzed under the point of view of Ely; Vinz; Downing; Anzul (2001), Mello (1999, 2004), Koch and Elias (2006). It was possible with this research to undo negative myths related to people with visual disability and also notice them as important people to be heard and observed within a reflexive process that aims to eliminate or to diminish prejudices and excluding situations.Fundação de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Minas GeraisMestre em LinguísticaEste trabalho teve como objetivo relatar e analisar uma experiência de ensino e aprendizagem para alunos com deficiência visual nas aulas de leitura e foi realizado com base nos pressupostos da Pesquisa Narrativa: Dewey (1938), Clandinin; Connelly (1994, 2004), Mello (1999, 2004), Connelly; Clandinin (2000). No estudo sobre a leitura, usei Kleiman como principal referencial (1989, 1995, 1999, 2004, 2007), buscando refletir sobre as pesquisas que a autora realizou sobre o tema, bem como tentando estabelecer uma relação entre essas teorias e a questão da deficiência visual, pois os estudos elaborados consideraram apenas alunos videntes. Para discutir interação, parti de conceitos e reflexões realizadas por Vygotsky (1934). Por meio de diários elaborados a partir da vivência da experiência com alunos com deficiência visual e com professores participantes da pesquisa, tentei compreender ações, relatos ou qualquer outra forma significativa de manifestação que estivesse relacionada com o processo de leitura, para, depois, compor sentidos e construir novas histórias. O material documentário foi analisado à luz das teorias de Ely; Vinz; Downing; Anzul (2001), Mello (1999, 2004), Koch e Elias (2006). Foi possível com a presente pesquisa desconstruir mitos negativos relacionados às pessoas com deficiência visual e também percebê-las como pessoas importantes de serem ouvidas e observadas dentro de um processo reflexivo em que se busca eliminar ou diminuir preconceitos e situações excludentes
