Breastfeeding is among the main practices for the establishment of proper nutrition in the first two years of life. However, performing this practice balancing paid work outside the home is in great difficulty experienced by millions of women. This study aims to understand the pattern of breastfeeding among working women assured by a formal private health insurance, in order to know risk factors for early weaning, bringing these to focus discussion. This was a descriptive, cross-sectional study with quantitative approach conducted between June 2010 and June 2011.
