The sugarcane expansion in the TMAP during the decade of 2000: an analysis about the dynamic on the use of the soil and the relationship with the land.

The sugar and alcohol sector in the last decade has achieved a great growth in its production, due to the heightened demand for biofuel owing to the climate changes. That caused the growth of sugarcane production at the Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba (TMAP). Thus, due to the importance of the sugar and alcohol sector as well as the agroindustrial activity to the Brazilian economy, this paper has as objective analyzed what changes would be caused to the dynamic of the land ownership structure and the relations with the land during the period when the sugarcane expanded the most. Therefore, this paper used of bibliographic research to investigate how the expansion model based on land lease influenced in the concentration of the land ownership, as well as the appreciation of the land prices and the relations that landowners and producer have with the mills and with land in the 2000's. It was detected the practice of land lease by the mills has signified in more concentration of land ownership and the appreciation of land prices. That would have expelled some producers from the land, stopping them from farming. The practice of land lease would also have contributed to the dissociation of the landowner to the land. The sugarcane expansion would also have caused the substitution of the traditional tilths and pastures for sugarcane production, although without clear loss of production. However, there are indications that sugarcane production would cause higher development and better lifestyle for the region. It is concluded that the sugarcane expansion in TMAP has caused in the concentration of land ownership and in more fragile relations with the land.Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)O setor sucroalcooleiro na última década obteve grande crescimento em sua produção, devido ao aumento de demanda por biocombustíveis frente às mudanças climáticas. Isso acarretou na expansão da produção canavieira para a região do Triângulo Mineiro e Alto Paranaíba (TMAP). Assim, devido à importância do setor sucroalcooleiro e da atividade agroindustrial para a economia brasileira, este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar quais seriam as mudanças na dinâmica da estrutura fundiária e nas relações com a terra no período de sua maior expansão. Para tanto, esse trabalho utilizou da pesquisa bibliográfica. Assim, foi investigado como o modelo de expansão baseado no arrendamento de terras influenciou na concentração fundiária, na valorização da terra e nas relações que os proprietários e produtores têm com a usina e com a terra na década de 2000. Detectou-se que a prática do arrendamento de terras pela usina significou maiores níveis de concentração fundiária e valorização dos preços das terras. Isso teria expulsado alguns produtores da terra, impedindo sua produção. A prática do arrendamento também teria contribuído para a dissociação do proprietário para com a terra. A expansão canavieira ainda teria provocado a substituição de culturas tradicionais e pastagens por canaviais, embora sem clara perda produtiva. No entanto, existem indícios que a produção canavieira acarretaria no maior desenvolvimento e na melhor qualidade de vida da região. Conclui-se que a expansão canavieira no TMAP levou à concentração fundiária e na relação mais frágil para com a terra
