Power factor correction and reduced harmonic distortion are desirable features in AC/DC converters because the great amount of static converters connected to power systems affects power quality. Within this context, this work proposes the hysteresis control technique with almost constant switching frequency applied to single-phase AC/DC converters, which intends to combine the advantages of the conventional strategy and PWM control.
