Design, strategy and collaboration: creation of a system as an alternative for the reuse of waste in the furniture sector tailor-made

Currently, Uberlândia / MG is known as a furniture pole for the Triângulo Mineiro region, although it is not fully consolidated as a Local Productive Arrangement (APL). In recent years, the furniture industry, especially the micro-sized industry, has grown more and more, collaborating with the development of the region. According to SENAI et al. (2006) and Oliveira et al. (2012), the region of the Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba had in 2012 about 800 micro and small industries (MPEs) of furniture, whose production is essentially tailor-made. Although they contribute to the economic dynamics of the region, tons of waste from these companies have been deposited in landfills and, in many cases, in inappropriate places such as wasteland, which directly affects the environment. The objective of this work is to design a collaborative network with several actors that can work together to reuse the waste generated by the furniture sector. Nos últimos anos, a indústria moveleira, especialmente a de micro-porte, tem crescido cada vez mais, colaborando com o desenvolvimento da região. De acordo com SENAI et al. (2006) e Oliveira et al. (2012), a região do Triângulo Mineiro e Alto Paranaíba possuía, em 2012, cerca de 800 micro e pequenas indústrias (MPEs) de mobiliário, cuja produção é essencialmente sob medida. Embora contribuam para a dinâmica econômica da região, toneladas de resíduos provenientes dessas empresas têm sido depositadas em aterros sanitários e, em muitos casos, em locais inapropriados como terrenos baldios, o que afeta diretamente o meio ambiente. O objetivo deste trabalho é projetar uma rede colaborativa com diversos atores que possam atuar em conjunto a fim de reaproveitar os resíduos gerados pelo setor moveleiro.
