No cotidiano da escola (pública): algumas contribuições da psicologia escolar para a prática de professoras das séries iniciais do ensino fundamental

This work based on the historical-cultural theory, is a report of a study performed with teachers who teach children in the initial grades at a public state elementary school located in the city of Uberlândia, MG, Brasil. As a great number of students who are beginning schooling are referred to psychologists, it was sought to investigate what teachers think and say that lacks in their daily work to better deal with students and also what they expect from a school psychologist. Semi-structured interviews were used to perform this task. It is believed, by the author of this study, that the majority of difficulties that teachers face is due to their initial and continued training, to the school atmosphere, to precarious work conditions, to questions that emerge in the specific context of the classroom and to the relationships between teacher and students, without of course putting aside subjective aspects of the teacher and the students and the families of the students. The teachers interviewed complained of disinterest of pupils, indiscipline and lack of family support, great number of students per class, shortage of material and inadequate space and students who present learning difficulties. According to the teachers, these factors make it hard to perform their work with quality. What they say reveals a predominant belief that the lack of social-cultural background and family support of the pupils is responsible for their learning difficulties. This study verified that the expectation of the teachers is that students with difficulties should be individually assisted by psychologists so that they can reach a satisfactory level of learning and be able to keep up with their same aged classmates. For the teachers, through clinical psychological work at the school (or out of it), it is possible to solve the difficulties presented by the students. The author of this study considers that the knowledge of the teachers upon the work of the school psychologist may be related to the lack of contact with this professional as well as the actual performance of the psychologist in the school which frequently only consists in clinical assistance. Besides this, the expectations of the teachers in regards to this professional represent a request for help in facing obstacles which they do not know how to deal with. Only with practice directed to the institutional context and continued training for teachers, in which these complaints can be heard and that breaks up the instituted and promotes resignificances of day-to-day may the psychologist provide elements that modify the concept teachers have on school difficulties and the work of the psychologist in the school, aiding them in a more effective daily practice and a more promoting manner of development and learning.Mestre em PsicologiaEste trabalho, baseado na teoria histórico-cultural, é o relato de uma pesquisa realizada com quatro professoras das séries iniciais do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola estadual da cidade de Uberlândia, MG. Tendo em vista o grande número de alunos no início do período de escolarização encaminhados para atendimento psicológico, procurei investigar, com base em entrevistas semi-estruturadas, o que as professoras pensam e dizem que lhes falta em seu trabalho cotidiano para melhor lidar com seus alunos e o que esperam do Psicólogo Escolar. Acredito que a maioria das dificuldades enfrentadas pelos professores é decorrente da sua formação inicial e continuada, do próprio ambiente escolar, da precariedade das condições de trabalho, de questões que emergem no contexto específico de sala de aula, e da relação entre docentes e alunos, sem deixar de lado aspectos da subjetividade do professor e das crianças, e questões familiares destas. As professoras entrevistadas queixaram-se do desinteresse discente, da indisciplina, da falta de apoio das famílias dos alunos, do número elevado de crianças por sala, da escassez de material e espaço físico inadequado e de alunos que apresentam dificuldades de aprendizagem. No discurso das docentes, essas questões dificultam a realização de um trabalho de qualidade. Suas falas revelam um predomínio da crença na carência sócio-cultural e familiar dos alunos como responsável pela dificuldade de aprendizagem deles. Verifiquei que a expectativa das docentes é que alunos com dificuldades sejam atendidos individualmente por psicólogos para alcançarem um nível satisfatório de aprendizagem e acompanhar seus colegas da mesma faixa etária. Para as docentes, por meio de um trabalho psicológico clínico na escola (ou fora dela), é possível solucionar as dificuldades apresentadas pelos alunos. Considero que o conhecimento das professoras sobre o trabalho do Psicólogo Escolar pode estar relacionado tanto à ausência de contato com esse profissional, quanto à própria atuação do Psicólogo na escola, que, muitas vezes, consiste unicamente em atendimento clínico. Além disso, as expectativas das docentes quanto a esse profissional representam um pedido de socorro frente aos obstáculos com os quais não sabem como lidar. Apenas com uma prática voltada para o contexto institucional e para a formação continuada de professores, em que possa ser oferecido um espaço de escuta dessas queixas, que rompa com o instituído e promova re-significações do dia-a-dia, o Psicólogo poderá fornecer elementos que modifiquem a concepção das professoras sobre as dificuldades escolares e sobre a atuação do profissional de Psicologia na escola, auxiliando-as numa prática cotidiana mais efetiva e promotora de desenvolvimento e aprendizagem
