Ways to train EJA teachers- 1990-2006

ABSTRACT: This study aimed to analyse the ways of learning and teaching in EJA in the 1990 period to 2006 in Uberlândia city located in Minas Gerais. The time frame initially corresponds to the international year for literacy, and end corresponds to implementation of the new pedagogy course guidelines. The specific objectives were identify and analyze the conceptions of training literacy teachers during the 1990 period to 2006, analyze the correspondence between training and practice of literacy teachers of EJA, unveiling the narratives of literacy teachers and coordinators, mapping out his recollections of the initial training process to work in EJA. The study was conducted using as a methodological reference the thematic oral history, crossing with documental and the literature. In this sense, document consultation were held in the Public Archives of Uberlândia. Uberlândia City Hall and Municipal Center for Education Studies and Projects (CEMEPE). Federal University of Uberlândia, as well as conducted a literature search, especially about the eja history, teacher training and pedagogy course. Among the documentary sources appealed too, the newspapers. To understand the context of the problem investigated, resumed the debate on teachers training and their knowledge, the institution of Youth and Adult Education as a right, and we sought to demarcate the historical EJA characteristics in the country, in Minas Gerais and finally in Uberlândia. It found that issues related to teachers training to work in EJA was to be desired, since the three institutions have not favored this area in the curriculum, the right to education proclaimed since the republic was only in the speeches. It was also found that changes in municipal administration, because of the alternation of parties in government, in the period studied, determined changes in the PMEA, it has transformed into a public policy although marked by a series of problems. Keywords: Initial Training, Youth and Adult Education, PMEADissertação (Mestrado)RESUMO O presente estudo buscou analisar os modos de aprender e ensinar na EJA no período de 1990 a 2006, em Uberlândia município localizado no interior de Minas Gerais. O recorte temporal corresponde inicialmente ao ano internacional da alfabetização, e o termino corresponde a implantação das novas diretrizes do curso de pedagogia. Os objetivos específicos foram: identificar e analisar as concepções sobre a formação de alfabetizadoras durante o período de 1990 a 2006; analisar a correspondência entre a formação e a prática das alfabetizadoras de EJA; desvelar nas narrativas das alfabetizadoras e coordenadoras, mapeando suas lembranças sobre o processo de formação inicial para atuarem na EJA. O estudo foi realizado tomando como referência metodológica a História oral temática, cruzando com a pesquisa documental e bibliográfica. Nesse sentido, foram realizadas consultas de documentos no Arquivo Público de Uberlândia, Prefeitura Municipal de Uberlândia e Centro Municipal de Estudos e Projetos Educacionais (CEMEPE), Universidade Federal de Uberlândia assim como realizamos a pesquisa bibliográfica, especialmente sobre a história da EJA, formação de professores e curso de pedagogia. Dentre as fontes documentais recorreu-se, também, a jornais. Para compreender o contexto do problema investigado, retomou-se o debate sobre formação de professores e seus saberes, a instituição da Educação de Jovens e Adultos como um direito, bem como se buscou demarcar as características históricas da EJA no país, em Minas Gerais e por fim em Uberlândia. Constatou-se que questões relativas a formação do professor para atuar na EJA ficou a desejar, uma vez que as 3 instituições não privilegiaram essa área nos seus currículos, o direito à educação proclamada desde a republica ficou somente nos discursos. Verificou-se, ainda, que as mudanças na administração municipal, em virtude da alternância de partidos no governo, no período estudado, determinaram modificações no PMEA, transformando-o numa política pública ainda que marcada por uma série de problemas.
