This study described morphological aspects of the digestive tract of the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), five specimens were used, belonging to the collection of the Laboratório de Ensino e Pesquisa em Animais Silvestres in UFU, were processed by usual methods of macroscopic anatomical, histological and scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis. The esophagus is a narrow tube that goes straight in the thoracic cavity. The stomach has the shape of the letter J, have the cardiac, fundic, corpus and pyloric regions.
