The excess emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is a worldwide concern, causing serious environmental damage. The burning of fossil fuels for power generation is one of the major contributors to this problem. Due to the increasing demand for energy, it is estimated that the burning of fossil fuels will continue to increase, due to its low cost and availability. The capture and separation of carbon dioxide are promising processes to minimize CO2 emission.
