International audienceWhile prohibited, no other drink occupied such important place in the doctrinal, theological and esoteric conceptions of Islam as wine. Ar-Raqîq, in the book entitled Qutb al-Surûr Fî Awsâf al-Anbidha wa-l-Khumûr (The greatest joy in describing wines and liqueurs), worked hard to set the position of wine in the Islamic culture putting together an anthology of Arabic and Muslim texts that were approaching these questions.Alors qu’elle est prohibée, aucune autre boisson n’a occupé dans les conceptions doctrinales, théologiques et ésotériques de l’islam, autant de place que le vin.
