The aim of the paper is presenting of a nature-friendly achievement of an artificial floating island made from concrete composite with dispersed reinforcement (fibre reinforced concrete). Fibre reinforced concrete is referred to as a material contributing to sustainable construction, as utilisation of fibre reinforced composites enhances durability and resiliency of structures and structural elements. The paper describes the floating island design, its shape and manufacturing process. The focus is also on the composition of fibre reinforced concrete and testing of its material characteristics. The successful application of fibre reinforced concrete in the floating island approved efficiency of fibre reinforced concrete as a material with hi...
