Renewable energy is becoming a key topic nowadays with increasing research topics surrounding sustainable energy. The mining industry in Canada consumes a great amount of non-renewable energy resulting in huge contribution to the nation's green house gas emissions. Therefore, this thesis investigates new possibilities for the mining industry to increase their dependence on renewable, non-polluting, sources of energy.
