This manuscript summarises published data on the distribution, habit, and current inferred models for dolomite occurrence in carbonates from southeast Asia. The presence of dolomite has significant implications for hydrocarbon exploration and production, as it may affect reservoir porosity, permeability, and connectivity to petroleum source areas. It may also be a factor in generation of undesirable non-hydrocarbon gases.This work is by no means exhaustive, given the paucity of published data on dolomites in the region, and there is considerable scope for further study.
